Biofeedback Generative Soundscape Randomization Hardware Engine

At the heart of this series audio engineering and audio reactive visuals is the Instruō Pocket SCÍON, a biofeedback instrument released early this year that allows me to translate the invisible biological processes of living organisms into data.
By attaching sensor clips to organic matter—like plants or even my own skin—the SCÍON detects microscopic fluctuations in surface conductance and resistance. Instead of using a standard random number generator which was my general method for years, I am sourcing "organic randomness" directly from nature, allowing the subtle, unpredictable electrical changes of life itself to act as the primary modulator for the piece.

To bridge this organic data with my digital production environment, the Pocket SCÍON converts one of my home plants bio-metric fluctuations into MIDI signals in real-time.
This MIDI stream is routed directly into Ableton Live, where it triggers and shapes my VST instruments. Because the device transmits polyphonic note data, velocity, and continuous controller (CC) messages based on the intensity of the bio-activity, the music doesn't just loop; it "breathes" and evolves responsively.
The result is a generative soundscape where the melody, timber, and rhythm are all dictated by the living source's unique electrical signature.
You can learn more about the device in the following video, its an absolute joy to work with and it has became my main go to tool for any randomization I need instead of the usual p5.js or Python randomizer. It gives both the music and the visual effect a very unique vibe I can not yet explain really, it is still very experimental and I am learning how to use it with more of my devices here so expect more magic as this collection evolve, its as cyborg as I can get in 2025/6 sending electrical signals from me or plants around me into my audio rig.

//-- PROTOTYPE is an expansive speculative sci-fi chronicle of potential futures.
The initial collection establishes the Genesis Phase—confined within the sterile archives of a future bio-foundry—the series is designed as an evolving visual research platform that will break containment to explore the trajectory of our species among the stars.
Future artworks in the series will diverge from this origin point to visualize the complex realities of human-AI symbiosis across new frontiers, from the terraforming of hostile exoplanets to the establishment of post-biological civilizations in deep space.
The project serves as a continuous interrogation of our evolutionary path, moving beyond the laboratory to speculate on the infinite, adaptation-driven futures that await once humanity successfully engineers its own successor and leaves Earth behind.
--- Beyond the visual narrative, the series functions as a psycho-acoustic experiment in neural synchronization. Each artwork features a generative soundscape embedded with specific Binaural Beats engineered to entrain the observer's neurology to the specific stage of the narrative—whether it be the hyper-focus of industrial replication or the delta-state restoration of cryo-sleep.
